Vanilla Berry Trifle Dessert
Serves 20
4 cups whipping cream
2 cups whole milk
2 package (3.4oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 (8-9 inch) angel food cake, cut into 1 inch cubes
1 pound strawberries, sliced (3 cups)
2 cups fresh blueberries (9 oz), plus more for garnish
Whole strawberries for garnish
Whisk together 2 cups whipping cream, the milk, pudding mix, in a large bowl until creamy and smooth. Chill, covered, until set, about 30 minutes.
For sweetened whipped cream, beat remaining 2 cups cream in a medium bowl with an electric mixer at high speed until foamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla, beating until stiff peaks form.
Put half of cake cubes in bottom of a 4 qt trifle bowl or a large serving bowl. Top with half of pudding mixture, half of sliced strawberries, half of blueberries, and half of sweetened whipped cream, spreading each layer evenly.
Repeat layers, ending with sweetened whipped cream on top. Chill, covered, at least 1 hour or up to 24 hours. Garnish with fresh berries on top.
